Supporting Families through Parent Café

A big shout out to Johnson County Social Services for funding this program that brings parents together to connect and share in a safe, welcoming and warm space. Thank you to One Ancient Hope for donating their space for the 6-week program. Parents left with joy and not feeling alone in the challenges that come with parenting. The time shared during the meal was filled with laughter, stories, meeting each other’s families, little ones giggling, and creating community. Each evening ended with one word from each participant. Here are a few you can take with you: perspective, compassion, comfortable, respect, emotional, captivating, grateful, inspired, vulnerable, accepted, resilience, and LOVE.

Game Night: An Evening of Fun, Friendship, and Connection

On June 25th, we had another fun game night! For individuals returning from incarceration, engaging in positive community activities are an important part of the reentry journey. Our members participated in a thrilling cornhole/bags tournament, full of competition and anticipation of which team would be crowned the Ultimate Bags Champion. Thank you to First United Methodist Church’s Women’s Group for providing a delicious summer cookout, and all who participated and helped create a welcoming, uplifting evening.

Spring Concert Recap:

Thank you to everyone who participated in our raffle, purchased concessions, and made monetary donations. Because of your support, we raised $11,501.49 to help continue providing resources, opportunities, and support for our members.
