Creative Arts Intern
Hours – 5 hours a week
Fall Semester
(unpaid internship, potential for course credit)
Do you enjoy the arts and want to help individuals after incarceration?
Assist with our bi-weekly Creative Collective group which focuses on writing and creative arts, including co-facilitation, coordinating guest artists, and art instruction
Help plan our annual art show featuring artwork of current and formerly incarcerated artists
Correspondence with currently incarcerated artists in jails and prisons across the state
Staff our resource center assisting formerly incarcerated individuals as they drop-in for assistance.
Qualifications:
Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
Availability 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 4-7 pm
Able to work independently
Ability to communicate with diverse populations.
What skills you will gain from this internship:
Practical experience in running peer support groups
Event planning and coordination
Work with individuals with a wide variety of diverse backgrounds.
