Meet one of our volunteers, Esther! Esther first became passionate about helping returning citizens when she heard the frustrations of someone in her community who could not vote due to his criminal record. She helps us by corresponding with our members on the inside and organizing backpack drives. She is passionate about bringing more awareness to our mission. Thank you, Esther!

Inside Out is for you if you’re ready to make a commitment to building a new life — from the inside out.
You will assist the Inside Out Coordinator to design your individual re-entry strategy based on how the program can best support your gifts and help you meet your challenges.
You are encouraged to be an active member in Inside Out activities and in the wider community since “paying it forward” is a fundamental part of living well. Leadership opportunities are available as you’re successfully involved in Inside Out over time.
Ready to be done with incarceration? One out of every three people released from Iowa prisons returns within 5 years. A comprehensive re-entry program like Inside Out can help you get established in the community and build the life you dream of. You do not have to go back and you can move forward successfully!
