Join us Friday April 19th from 1-3 pm for a Reentry Simulation! At the simulation, participants assume the identity of a returning citizen and navigate through a series of events in an effort to successfully reintegrate into the community. Following the simulation, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from formerly incarcerated individuals directly. #reentry #reentrymatters

Last Thursday night’s Game Night was so much fun! Thank you to First United Methodist Church of North Liberty Women’s Group for serving us a delicious home cooked meal. We played bingo, trivia and thanks to a community donor were able to give away a tv as a prize. May 19: Inside Out is hosting our 2024 Spring Concert: Be An Instrument For Change on May 19th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Chauncey Swan Park in Iowa City. This year, we are proud to feature the renowned local band, the Awful Purdies, in an event that promises to be a celebration of music, community, and shared experiences.
Our Spring Concert is more than just a musical performance; it’s an opportunity for our members to come together in a spirit of joy and camaraderie. In keeping with our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement, we are pleased to offer the concert free and open to all!

From the Awful Purdies website: A Folk-Americana collective of five multi-instrumental women, powered by seamless harmonies, banjo, accordion, cello, guitar, mandolin, and bass. The sound is an earnest nod to traditional American music, folk, old country, bluegrass, honky tonk, and soul.
The live performance experience is intimate, containing both humor and insight. On stage, Awful Purdies actively share gratitude and support of one another and take turns stepping up as lead singers and songwriters.
Since 2006, Awful Purdies have been raising families, telling women’s stories, advocating for human rights, and engaging with their communities in Eastern Iowa.
